FAQ

  • What areas do you do Pool Inspections in?
SafeGate Pool Inspectors are local to the Echuca area and inspect in Echuca, Shepparton, Bendigo and everywhere in between on a weekly basis. We are also servicing areas of Swan Hill, Kerang, Cohuna, Swan Hill Shire area and Gannawarra Shire area. Contact us for our next upcoming inspections in these areas.
  • What happens if my pool or spa doesn't pass the first inspection?
Providing the areas of non-compliance are considered minor (this is usually the case) you have 60 days from the first inspection to fix the issues. Once resolved, SafeGate Pool Inspectors will complete a second onsite inspection to confirm the issues have been fixed and we can then issue the Certificate.
  • How often does the pool or spa need to be inspected?
A Certificate of Barrier compliance is valid for four years and requires re-inspection to complete a new Certificate. This is the minimum requirement and SafeGate advise that if you are purchasing a home with a pool or spa to have the barrier inspected prior to purchase for peace of mind.
  • What do I need to do before the inspection (paperwork)?
In terms of paperwork, we need the date of construction for the pool or spa, this will ensure we know which applicable barrier standard to assess it against. This information is held by your local Council as part of your pool registration. If you haven't registered your pool yet, contact your local Council to register.
  • What do I need to do before the inspection (checklist)?
To increase the chances of the barrier passing first time, SafeGate Pool Inspectors will send you the applicable barrier standard self checklist. This is a straight forward checklist that covers the key areas we will be inspecting. This is not a mandatory requirement and SafeGate are happy to attend the inspection without you completing the self checklist.
